Capmatinib for MET exon 14-mutated non-small cell lung cancer: final results from the multinational phase 2 GEOMETRY mono-1 trial

The multinational phase 2 GEOMETRY mono-1 trial evaluated capmatinib for MET exon 14-mutated (METex14) advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Final results of the trial have now been published. Overall responses were recorded in 68% of treatment-naïve patients and 44% of previously treated patients. The median progression-free survival was 12.45 months among the treatment-naïve patients and 5.49 months among the previously treated patients. The median overall survival was 21.36 months among the treatment-naïve patients and 16.79 months among the previously treated patients. Grade 3 or 4 serious adverse events occurred in 44% of patients, and treatment-related deaths in 1%. The authors conclude that these long-term results support use of capmatinib for treament-naïve and previously treated patients with METex14 NSCLC.
