The multinational phase 3 BFORE study compared bosutinib versus imatinib for newly diagnosed chronic phase chronic myeloid leukemia. Five-year follow-up results have now been published. Cumulative MMR, MR4, and MR4.5 were higher with bosutinib than with imatinib. Overall, there were no new safety signals. The authors conclude that these results support 400-mg once-daily bosutinib as standard-of-care for newly diagnosed CP CML.
