Belantamab mafadotin plus bortezomib and dexamethasone for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma: overall survival in DREAMM-7
Dr. Maria-Victoria Mateos
The phase 3 DREAMM-7 trial, at 142 centers in 20 countries, randomized previously treated patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma to belantamab mafadotin plus bortezomib and dexamethasone (BVd) or daratumumab plus bortezomib and dexamethasone (DVd). Updated results of the trial found significantly better overall survival , MRD-negativity, and progression-free survival on a subsequent antimyleoma therapy with BVd versus DVd. Grade 5 treatment-related adverse events occurred in 3% of patients with BVd versus 1% of patients with DVd. A separate publication showed that the health-related quality of life
was generally maintained or improved over time in the BVd group.
