Adding bevacizumab to first-line erlotinib prolonged progression-free survival of patients with EGFR-mutated advanced nonsquamous NSCLC in the Japanese JO25567 trial, but limited data are available in non-Asian patients. The multicenter randomized phase III BEVERLY trial found that the addition of bevacizumab to first-line erlotinib prolonged PFS in Italian patients with advanced EGFR-mutated nonsquamous NSCLC. Toxicity was increased with the combination but without unexpected safety issues.
